I wish it was just an external one that could be easily removed. It makes me think (although unlikely) it could be interfering with the boot process. I remember once leaving a card in it and it prevented the machine booting (as it was failing) until I removed the card. No great drama as I barely use it and wish I’d never opted for it when configuring the machine. ![]() There is no exclamation mark in device manager on windows but it doesn’t read anything. Basically it stopped working a few months ago. However I did consider the internal 52 in 1 card reader could be to blame. I am wondering if the creators update is to blame and maybe it’ll go away when we reach the next spring creators. In that time I must of booted the machine over 200 times. And it’s happens about 4 or 5 times since September. I only noticed it starting after fall creators update. Fast boot is not a culprit as I always turn that off. ![]() I noted it doesn’t matter if it’s a cold boot or restart, happened in both scenarios. The remedy is easy as I just hit the reset button on my case and it will then be fine. Where the dots at the bottom normally indicate the few secs of loading windows they will be missing. It goes past post and then just sits on the ASUS logo. I’m getting an issue where very occasionally windows won’t boot.
